A-0395-027

Sleeping Baby Bear in Bed ca 1955 This cute sleeping baby bear in bed is a collectible classic, recently featured on the Antique Road Show. Line-Mar Company Inc., made in Japan. 6 separate actions from waking up to yawning to going back to sleep. Quite amusing to watch, made in the mid-1950's, it is 9 inches long and very nicely done. Note: We believe the original detachable alarm clock at the top of the bed was substituted with a home-made clock, but whoever made it did a good job. Takes one D battery (not included), shows some wear but is clean, in working condition, and an excellent runner. Weighs 1-1/4 lbs [see O'Briens value guide 10th edition page 230 for more information about this toy]. Toys and Games; Battery Operated; Classic Collectible; Made in Japan

5110-022

Rare Horse, Wagon & Driver, Pre-WWII Japan This nice old tin toy is pre-World War II. Battery-operated, the horse and wagon with driver is one integrated, interactive assembly. It is lithographed tin and has a heavy duty motor, requires 2-D batteries (not included) which are stored in a little compartment in the back of the wagon covered with a cloth "tarp." The driver is removable from his seat, the brown horse is connected to the wagon through two mechanical arms. The driver appears to be a Japanese farm worker. The wagon tail gate is hinged to lift open. Batteries are stored inside wagon. There is an on/off switch on side of wagon. The driver moves back and forth and the horse's head and legs move as the wagon moves, with a clip-clop sound of the hooves. The tires on the wagon are rubber. Length from horse's head to tail-gate is 16-1/2 inches. The toy weighs 1-1/2 lbs and the paint is good with only slight wear. This extremely rare toy had very little use and is in outstanding condition (see images). The spring "whip" has no bends, even the horse-hair tail is intact. Very unusual, everything here is all original and working fine. Toys and Games; Horse; Wagon; Driver; Battery Operated; Japan; Rare;
