Used mainly by physicians and pharmacies but also by more well-to-do citizens, this old unit is beautiful but not complete. The uppermost tray that normally holds the vaporizer is missing. In addition, the glass cover of the alchol burner was cracked from excessive heat exposure at some point in the distant past. However, it is still intact and can easily be glued if necessary. The finish is very nice and it makes a gorgeous display piece. A great gift for a medical student or Victorian collector, this unit is 6-1/4 inches tall and weighs 1/2 lb. Kovels Antique Piece Guide of 1999, page 491 states value at 130.00. Primitives and Antiquities; Victorian; Medical; Pre-1900; Health; Medicine;
