This jar and cover are made from brass. The jar is 6-1/4 inches tall x 4-1/ 2 inches in diameter. The words "La Palina Senators, mild, made good" appear on the jar lid, and the piece is circa late 1800's. There is a small dent in the lid (see image) and the container is in nice shape and undamaged. In very good condition showing only normal use. Used as both a sales container and humidor, the originals were supplied with a tiny cloth bag which could be soaked with water and placed in the bottom.
