This breathtaking black box is made of lacquered- covered wood and inlaid with mother of pearl or Abalone shell. The inlay picture has a decorative orential house, ducks, flowers, and a man with pipe and a woman. Inside, the inlay includes flowers, butterflys, and a beautiful bird. Construction is exquisite. Its age is unknown but it was not made recently. The box has 3 sections, heavy solid brass ash tray, covered storage for smoking materials and an area for matches or lighter. 12 inches long x 6-1/2 inches wide x 2-1/4 inches tall, weighs 2-1/2 lbs, in excellent condition.
