One of the "real" vintage German pottery steins, very scarce as they are delicate and few from this era have survived intact. This one is exceptional and classic - 1/2 liter, pewter swing top lid (#71). The characters and design are in relief against a colorful background. The knight is sitting, holding his sword, the maiden is standing, pouring a drink from a jug, knight speaks "Beer or wine, I keep quiet." (best available translation, if you have a better one let us know). Inside of lid is marked 1906 and has owners name; 8-3/8 inches tall x 3-3/4 inches in diameter, weighs 1-1/2 lbs.
