This nice Victorian piece dates from the 1880's. Spring loaded, when glove gets wet, stretch tool is inserted into finger holes, glove would then air dry and into shape. Could be rosewood as original owner claimed, but in our opinion more likely maple or other tight-grain hardwood. Nicely crafted and smoothed, 9-7/8 inches long x 1-3/16 inch wide, weighs 2 ounces. Great vintage collectible, hard to find, in excellent working condition. Primitives and Antiquities; Personal; Victorian; Wood; Glove Stretchers;
